transmission problem :wtf

ok i have a 96 240sx se that i bought last month, this car is a s14 model with a stock ka24de the transmission is from a s13 i was told by the seller.. now it didnt work when i bought the car and i took it to a shop and had it hooked up but now the speedo reads about 45-50 miles off i was told by this guy that knows nissans he said get the s14 speedo sensor and put it in the s13 transmission, now my question is will the s14 speedo sensor fit and work in a s13 transmission??any help would be really appreciated thanx!

yes it will work the gears are different. s14 ka sensor

not sure on that, but I think there is an adjustment screw on the back of the gauge cluster that will let you adjust your speedometer... either that or you could get a GPS unit with speed readout or something (in a hurry).

lol i dont how to delete threads im new at this srybut no im in no hurry and the speedo sensor from the s13 doesnt have a screw to adjust down the speedometer that was my first thought to

listen to your mechanic, you need the s14 speed sensor

well guys that didnt work at all the s14 is for a 96 the transmission thats in the car is from a 89 s13 the speedo sensor is to big to fit in the tanny...any ideas? im thinkin about just doin a sr20 swap and jsut being done with it, anyone know of a good place to find motors and also whats a decent price to pay for one n

well, if you just want your speedo to work, obviously you could swap in an S14 transmission... or just get a GPS unit.
