Transmission Problem

I have a 92 240(automatic), the trans would shift hard between 1st & 2nd. Any idea??

would changing the trans. fluid help??

if so how many quart do i need to buy??

Hmmm.... a drain and fill won't really help, first check to see if the fluid is dirty, (no longer pink/red).

If the fluid is burned, a drain and fill will help. You best option in that case is to actually have it flushed. Either way, this will not completely solve the problem. It will just soften up the shifts a little.

Check the dropping resistor to make sure it is still plugged in, or if it is check the resistance.

This could also be a problem with the fluid temp sensor.
