Hello, i have a 1992 240SX Coupe manual. A week ago or so my clutch went nuts and started slipping. The next day i started it up, pressed the clutch down hard a few times and it was running like new. So recently it started to make it a headache to put into first gear, but only at a stand still. If i'm rolling at 1mph and shift into 1st from neutral it pops in great, if i'm at a stand still most of the time i must put it in 2nd, then first. On some occasions i start the car up, drive it around without a problem getting into 1st. The inconsistency makes no sense to me, please help.

it is normal for the trans to go into first or rev hard when the car is sitting at a stand still. the reason is in order to get it into first the internals of the trans must come to a stop. even when the clutch is pressed in it still has momentum from the free spining of it being in neutral with the clutch out. The reason it works ofk when moving is the out put shaft is sppinning as well and you are able to rev match both components some what.

A friend of mine had a similar problem, he said it was the transmission overall, he got it swapped, i hope that's not my fate. Is it the throw out bearing, or what?
