havent posted here in a while, but i was driving the other day and i missed 2nd and my clutch got all stiff and i couldnt get in and out of gears i kept pressing it in and out and was able to get it into third and got to where i was going but had to have my car towed to a shop. i havent been able to get a diagnostic yet because it happened yesterday and they closed early saturday and are closed sunday but was hoping you guys might know something. i here this weird fluttering type noise when i tried to drive it again and pressed the clutch. whats up?

I don't see how a missed shift could do any damage to anything other than maybe a gear if you really boned it, in which case it's gonna be an expensive trans repair but I really doubt anyone could be so ham handed

My guess is the clutch fork or pivot ball broke. It's probably the fork floating around and the TO bearing moving back and forth on it's own.If you know what to look at, jack it up and watch the fork while someone pushed the clutch pedal down, otherwise make sure you have it at a competent and trust-worthy shop that knows what they are doing.

the shop called me yesterday and said its a burned out clutch and i need to replace the entire clutch assembly and a new fly wheel, he says that parts and labor would be between 700 and 800 bucks does this sound right?

YEah, that doesn't sound excessive at all. I think the parts are about $400 + flywheel resurfacing + labor. I would recommend rear engine seal and front and rear trans seals while it's out if they are showing any signs of weeping.
