Every once in a while, when I engage into 1st gear or reverse, the gear will POP into place. Anyone ever had a similar problem? I'm driving a 93' hatch.

It mostly happens when I go into reverse. As I put it into gear, it literally POPS into place. Making a poping noise. It happens rarely, but I want to fix it before it gets worse.

Does it happen if you slowly move the shifter into reverse?

Sometimes. More so if I slightly slam it. I just hear this "Ka-chunk" sound.

I guess its the same problem i'm having then. Sometimes (or rarely) i have trouble getting into first. If i just slam it into reverse i get the clunk sound. Sometimes i can't shift into 2nd gear forcing me to slam it into gear.

Heres my old thread i posted in the online mechanic forum.

I bought a new slave cylinder, butI haven't had the time check what s13sr20chris suggested. If you try it, post back here please.

Also start a thread in the NIssan Online Mechanics forum too. You'll probably get more help there.
