I agree. I got another 45,000 miles out of Layla, and she was still running fine, up to 140 MPH when I sold her. I used Lucas in the oil, ps fluid, and transmission.Jesda wrote:If you know its near death, run some Lucas or Lubeguard until it dies. Unless your taking road trips, you might as well get as much out of it as you can until it dies.
All oil regardless of what it is (ATF, oil, etc etc) , wont do a very good job unless its above 100F... Why you notice things that dont get very hot but move use grease, not oil.Jeff Williams wrote:No matter what Bob the oil guy says, Lucas works, and I will continue to use it. All his tests are at room temperature, and the last time I checked, the transmission runs over 200 degrees F uder normal operation.
If it forms an emulsion at room temperature, I bet it will at higher temperatures until it starts to decomopose molecularly.Jeff Williams wrote:No matter what Bob the oil guy says, Lucas works, and I will continue to use it. BUt you really have no way of determinign that..... I dont see any evidence that lucas KILLS transmissions.....maxnix wrote:If it forms an emulsion at room temperature, I bet it will at higher temperatures until it starts to decomopose molecularly.
If nothing else, it is destroying low temperature viscosity, which is where most wear occurs on cold engine starts. Why risk it?
