Transmission problem please help

The problem is that when I'm driving the car and get to a stop light or sign and try to accelarate the transmission will slip. So I will have to pull over , turn the car off and then back on and the car will be fine for the day. This happens at least once a day. The od light has been flashing. Is it an electrical problem. Please help me because I have heard people with similiar transmission problems but no solution.

Yr and model of the car? Try a search on how to pull codes using the OD light.
