02 LE 2wd. I was stopped in park and I heard a clicking/light knocking. Put it in gear and drove 40 feet, seamed fine until I came to a stop and went to accelerate again. It maxed out at 10 mph no matter what rpm engine was at. Restarted engine and it started shifting again but felt like it was slipping a bit. Yesterday it made a whirring type sound above 2000 rpm but had no shifting issues. It had also been holding gears when cold since I bought it (1000 miles ago), unsure if related.
Fluid looks clean and full, no lights on. Any ideas? transmission shop in my future?

Go and have the codes read on it anyways. Sometimes OBD will throw codes without a lamp coming on, you might have one. If there aren't any codes, try resetting the ECM/TCM and driving it.

Thanks for the reply, no codes. I put a new filter and it does drive, but holds gears forever then shifts hard when cold and lots of whirring noises and clicks. Im getting another trans tomorrow.
