Transmission Plate between transmission and block?

Do we really need this plate. I dont have it and if its not needed, i dont wanna spend the time and money gettin one.

I dont know man,Ive never seen anyone do without one. Every car ive ever worked on had one.They have them for some reason.Maybe to protect the mating surfaces .

i think you do cause if you dont the transmission would be closer to the clutch to where its engagin. dunno just my 2 cents

i have been running without it for a year, and it runs just fine. two of my buddies also run without, and no problems came from theirs either. ive heard people call it a sandwich plate to prevent damaging the mating surfaces and also someone said something about a "dust plate", whatever thats supposed to mean. anyway, yea you dont have to worry about it. but if you ever change your mind, ive got one to sell to you for cheap! $10 plus shipping! lol
