Ok, Car- 1995 Nissan 240sx 5 speed with stock motor and trans.Problem- When driving and I crack my window, a draft starts and pulls a burnt smell through the car. Its transmission fluid and when in good sunlight, I can see the smoke coming up from the shifter boot. I checked the fluid and its fine, you can smell its burning. Question- How or why would it be burning?

Thanks, Adam.

No leaks that I can see. When I removed the plug to check the fluid, the smell was strong and then I smelt the cap and its strong on that to. Somethings going on in the transmission and I dont know what it could be or why its doing it. Thanks Adam

I've had the car for 6 years and changed the clutch/pressure plate last year and changed the fluid then. Thanks Adam.

How often are you supposed to change manual gear oil? Thanks, Adam.
