Hello All,

I have been noticing a weird noise when going through the gears in the higher rpms. Almost sounds like a whirrling noise is best i could describe it as. This only happens around 4-5rpm's when going through the gears. Not sure what it is but hoping its not my transmission going bad. Also the syncros had been replaced at 60,000 my car now has 109,000.

Does that mean my transmission is on its way out?

I had this problem only when cold. Replaced the fluid with redline synthetic. It fixed it. The fluid Nissan had recently put in was apparently garbage. It also had a sort of shimmy or shake, kinda felt like a bad tire, but only when cold. The new trans fluid fixed that too.

Awesome, ZeeTree, I have similar issue and I will give redline a try. Where is it sold?

You can get redline just about anywhere. I think even Autozone and O'Reilly sell it.
