Well after going to the track i had some wheel hop coming off the line on my last run. the next day when i started my car it had a whining sound kinda like a super charger sound lol. So i pushed the clutch in it went away figuired out it was in the trany so i took it out for a spin it whined in first and second gear and a little in third but not in forth or fifth. drained the gear oil and the drain plug was full of tiny metal pieces on the magnet part. cleaned all that up and put fresh gear oil in drove around a while the sound got quiter but can still hear it a little in first and second gear. it shifts fine and no other noise. so i'm trying to figuire out what i damaged and if it will hold up. I hate to pull it its only been in there for a 1000 miles. lol. any ideas on what i damaged ?

Sounds like the input shaft bearing got damaged. Or at least that's what my input shaft bearing sounds like. And this transmission is FAR more abused then a single launch with wheel hop.

Get a spare trans and put new bearings in it.

I have the same noise in my car. So I rebuilt the trans and its still there. Thought it was the input shaft bearing too. I put brass, bearing, and seals in mine. My trans guy and me took it back apart and couldn't find anything wrong so now I'm going for gears, shafts, and idlers, but Ill explain my noise a little better and you can see if it the same. I had a noise like a bad power steering pump and when I pushed the clutch in it went away. On the highway when I let off the gas the bad power steering pump noise when away but i also had a grinding noise in 3rd and 4th went I let off the gas. When I gave it gas I had the bad power steering pump noise but no grinding. So see if your noise is similar and ill let you know how i make out in about a week or two. I'm still trying to find a used unit to swap the everything over before I spend The $600 on new stuff.

hmmm, sometimes a loud wine means that the throwout bearing is going out, also it could be your bearings are going out

sometimes its just the timing and it isnt something that you did yourself

it would probably be more expensive to fix the problem than it would be to swap the trannys

mine is exactly the same way, 300 miles later; sounds like rod knock in my trans. lol. just replace the whole trans. if metal fragment comes off that bearing, it starts to kill everything else. mine is screwed at least.
