Thanks for the input brad!bradkenyon wrote:just louder than expected.
you would think with a small car, it would be quieter.
My Versa w/CVT's got 22,000 miles on it, and I think both the engine and transmission are very quiet. The only time I really notice either is if I'm accelerating or going uphill with engine going above 3500 rpm. Cruising at 75mph and 2500 rpm, though, I have to think about it to hear either one.BBISHOPPCM wrote:The Versa's engine, once broken in, will produce a throatier sound than it did when new. The CVT shouldn't be noisy, but will produce a faint "whine" at low speeds...
I'm a little confused, why would a small car be quieter than a large car? Small cars are cheaper and tpyically have less sound reduction material and their small engines run higher RPM's to make their power.bradkenyon wrote:just louder than expected.

That sucks, my V does the same thing, it does not like to go slow.. Even jerks alittle when you accelerate. The article sounds right on in my opion.Kabir wrote:I do notice that while cruising around 1500RPM, the engine sounds a little rough and vibrates. It is more obvious when you just give as little gas as possible to maintain the cruising speed. In fact, some review also mentioned this.
