hi all,

I currently did something I guess really dumb which was buy a transmission mount from advance auto, I had the part installed and now it feels like the whole transmission is jumping when I go thru a pothole or speed bump.
I had the car up on the lift and gave the transmission a slight lift and moves up and down a whole lot.
is there anywhere besides the dealer that I can purchase a good one from???

That's odd...maybe the one you got is just defective? I'd get another to test and see...if not then talk to the dealer and see what they say. You might be able to buy it online (from an Infiniti dealer) for much cheaper than your local dealer though.

so I got it checked, smh
i got the new mount removed and compared it to the old one which was really not that bad.
i noticed i could move the new one around really easily, i went ahead and re installed the old one back on until i receive the one from the dealer and just like that the issues were gone.
from now on ill stick to oem parts.

Ilya makes a great point. I always use Infiniti (or Nissan) parts and fluids. There are actual Infiniti dealers who have Ebay stores with discounted prices on lots of OEM things. Failing that, there are also places like Infiniti Parts USA, etc that will ship items for free. I used to buy microfiber towels and car care products from the local parts shop but even those are poor quality compared to online stores like Chemical Brothers, Griot's, etc.
