So I got an 89 shell for free in rough condition. Bought a dohc motor set, replaced the headgasket, etc etc..

So anyways in my final stretch to finish my car I've got the motor in and on the mounts..

I noticed that the transmission mount doesn't line up..like the transmission is sitting 1-1.5" too far forward or something..

So could I have some how, some way put the motor mounts on the wrong sides...or done anything to make the whole motor/transmission sit too far forward?

Here's the crossmember and mount:Here's where the shifter sits with a floor jack holding it as high as it goes:

^You can see that it sits kinda forward

Also one of the 4 bolts that holds the transmission on is broken I guess...like the stud is stuck in the car and nothing is poking out...and drilling it out isn't working because it's too tough..any ideas on that?

turn the cross member around and switch the mouts..sumpin is installed backwards...on the engine mount brackets..there is a R for right side and a L for the left side..make shure there correct...

as for the broken bolt..you really need to get that out and replace it..i sugest drilling a small hole and using an (Easyout ) brand type extractor..it wont be easy..you might want to clean the area good and remove any carpet/wireing from around that area on the inside..then try heating up the surounding metal to expand it enough to break it loose for removal...good luck

I've flipped the crossmember around and stuff and have it right...it's the whole motor/transmission assembly that looks to be 1.5" forward.

I'll check the motor mounts.
