Just this morning when I start up the car the transmission malfunction light pop on and then went off.

The transmission was rebuilt early last year only 20,000 miles on her.I have not done the machine transmission flush.

I read some posts on here regarding this.

Last time I saw the transmission malfunction light was when I first bought it but then the transmission didnt go out for like 4 years after that.

Could it be just a glitch or is there something really going on that is in the pike to happen.

Car is shifting great no problems at all fluid looks fine. What other electric problem could it be?

I will do what Elwesso says Then I will post codes

"with the key initially off, hold the reset of the twin trip meters counter clockwise (try both ways, i cant remember which one does it)... you should get AT check (if it doesnt do it counterclockwise, try the other way)..... You turn the key on while holding that to one direction or the other. Also, before you do this shift the car into drive and put on the parking brake...

once you have the AT check, shift to 3, fully depress and release the gas, then to 2, then to 1, and fully depress and release the gas. Then give it a couple of minutes and it will tell you the codes on the readout

Depends on who did the rebuilding and what level they replaced things. Why most shops only give a 12,000 mile warranty. They just throw in a $230-$320 parts kit as fast as possible and rush it out the door, praying that it lasts 12k/365 days.

Remember the AT warning is just to tell you that something electrical [connections or sensor itself] failed the test...............nothing to do with mechanical operations.

Personally I like Nissan remanned AT that last at least 6 years or 100k.

The rebuilt only cost me $1200 12,000 mile warranty you are right.

I did run the codes it came back 3AD whatever that means.

Car is running fine thought no issues. Would the battery being drained cause the transmissiom malfunction light to come on?

Low/weak battery or strained alternator have been known to cause some weird electrical/sensor transmission issues.

How old is the battery, it's cheaper (and smarter) to replace a battery at 3 years, than wait until year 4 (or later) and put more stress on the alternator.

Rex you were right I took the car over to Auto Zone to check the battery and It came back dead battery

This is the 2nd free battery I have received in 3 years from them nice I didnt have to pay the $80 dollars. This explains why car has been having tougher starts the last month or so.

Seems like my car eats them up every 2 years tops

I was running a Duralast Gold there best battery

Should have stress tested the alternator.
