Hi
I too got that transmission whine on deceleration!
I just bought a '98 Nissan Sentra SE with 187k miles in California.
2.0 engine, A/T
Passed smog and all seems well.
Nice car, runs great but...
Except that transmission whine when decelerating.
It becomes very audible below 20mph.
Although you hear it at higher speeds as well.
Shift into "2" and the sound is less.
Although it all shifts fairly well I also have that shift issues from 1st to 2nd.
Worst when under hard acceleration or cold.
Almost like a slipping.
Shift takes several seconds with engine not dropping revs. eeek!
This morning up a steep hill would not shift into 2nd. Yaiks!
Engine just reved up.
Fluid flush had been done by PO about 15k miles ago.
ATF color is pink-red and clear, nothing brown.
Have you found out what is the cause?
Anyone know what this could be?
Rob
