Transmission light question?

Hello again everyone,

My 1994 300zx light comes on in the gauge cluster when I turn the power on, however turns off when I actually start the engine. Is this normal for 300zx's or not, do I have a transmission problem? I know that when you turn the car on the check engine light is suppose to come on then turn off when the engine is started. Does the transmission light work the same way to where its checking that all systems are working properly?

My light now comes on for two second, then finally turns off. All it needed was some ATF. I'm still wondering if this light is even suppose to come on at all, when turning the cars power on, can someone please tell me. Is this light even suppose to be on at all. Help, with confirming if the transmission light is suppose to be on at all. Should I just keep pouring ATF in until the light is completely off when powering on the car. Thanks!
