Transmission leak

I have a '98 pathfinder 4WD. One day it started leaking transmission fluid, my other half says it's a front main seal? OK, so fast forward 2 months my pathfinder still apart in garage. He's trying to pull transfer case and transmission. Help! It doesn't seem to be as simple as he thought. Any tips?

Get a very detailed repair manual. I just looked over mine (same manual for the '98 Pathfinder) and see that it is a complex process for removal. Very good advice. We charge a ton for those and nobody likes the job despite it. They're a complete motherf___er.

He's down to a couple bolts. So taking it somewhere is not and option. Thanks for the tip. We have the service manual but I didn't want to print 300 pages but it sounds like I might have to
