i'm using red line synthetic manual transmission fluid, and i noticed the imput shaft seal is leaking. about 1 drop of oil a day. does anyone have this problem when they are using synthetic fluid in the transmission. my sr20det only have 32k miles on it, the engine dosen't leak any oil.

Either one as they're the same. I replaced mine a long time ago and it still leaks.

mine leaks and drips out of the bell housing. I replaced the input shaft gasket when I had the transmission out last time and it did not help. Mine leaks more than 1 drip a day though.

did it leak before you put synthetic in the trans. Because i heard synthetic tends to shrink gaskets if u have ran regular oil before without replacing the gasket. So i say its the rear trans seal.

Mine does this same damn thing and it's ruining clutches. i'm going to replace the disk again and i'll let you know what I find. the only thing i can think of is I didn't put gasket sealer on the trans front cover bolts like the fsm says. I did all the gaskets inside the bell housing and the rear main seal last time.

i never try using regular oil in the transmission, i always used red line synthetic, i will put regular 80w-90 transmission oil and see what happens.
