im starting to have transmission issues again. i did a transmition flush at the nissan dealership, it didnt help much but it seems as if when it is cold outside, the transmision doesnt want to shift past 3rd gear. so when im driving about 50mph it acts like it is going 65. then a few stop lights will pass and the car warms up completely it will shift normaly. do you guys have any ideas of what could of went bad?

I dunno. . I can say that when it's cold, mine def. doesn't shift quickly at all. I guess I haven't driven at that speed when it's cold, as I can't possibly get to a road with that sort of limit before it's warmed up.

I was preparing my 99.5LE to tow (BAD IDEA) and I replaced the stock fluid and filter with B & M Trick Shift. It really helped the way my ride shifts. My ride had a bad habit of staying in passing gear while in cruise after topping a hill. The fluid change helped this also but it still tends to stay in passing gear too long.

Don't Tow with no 3.0!!

Yeah I couldn't imagine what a 3.3 would tow like. . says you can do 5k lbs, but I'll bet it's crazy slow.

Sorry, I was going by the user text that says you have a 99.5 (96 - 00 had 3.3).From my perspective, it's not that bad -- I don't tow anything, but I compare to my last SUV which was a 91 Isuzu Rodeo with the GM 2.8. The engine put out 120 HP

I worked at SIA in summer of 2000 (which WAS Subaru / Isuzu) locally, where they made all the Rodeos, and I drove literally hundreds of all worldwide versions of that thing ... the 4 cylinder was a VAST improvement over the old 6.
