This is a new one on me. I swapped in a ka24de into my 1990 hatch. car was orig 5 speed so nothing changed there. Got the motor in, had a blown hg and rod knock, i got ****ed... ok w/e i drove it around the block a few times just for fun, brought it home and pulled the motor out. I put another one in, no biggy, w/e went pretty straight forward, with no major issues. the thing is that i dont have the driveshaft bolted to the diff, only through the transmission and into the carrier bearing and then it sits on the ground. i start the car up and go to let the clutch out while its in neutral and the driveshaft spins. and not just a little rotation.... it spins. It goes into every gear just fine without no grinds etc. the clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and pilot bushing are all new, it was all in the car with the bad motor and i had no issues then. wtf..... i didnt touch the transmission in any way just bolted it up to the other motor and threw it in the car. any ideas are greatly appreciated.

if the clutch is new and there were no other problems, i would have to point the finger @ the hydraulics having air in the lines.

you dont have any serious issue. with no load on the transmission like the diff or wheels the motion of the fluid in the transmission will cause the output shaft to spin in nuetral don't worry about it. bolt the drive shaft up and see if the car rolls in neutral. IF it does you have a broken shift fork and the car is not dis-engaging from which ever gear it is stuck in
