I went ahead and did something and like usual I should have rechecked the forum. I am one of many trying to get the trany to last a little longer. I had the flush completed and then dropped the pan and replaced the screen. so far so good. When I first got the car it would not shift unless I backed of the pressure on the throttle pedal slightly. After talking to a local transmission shop, he said that the the TPS could be out of adjustment. I rotated it one way and it wouldn't shift at all so I went the other way and rotated it twoards the passenger (back) side of the car. Eureka, the car now shifts, not the best, but it shifts.

It stopped shifting the other day, now I am in trouble shoot mode. Where I am sorry I went ahead and did something without double checking is where I added the red additive, LubeTech to the transmission. I poured the whole bottle in. Could this be the source of my issues. I did this a day before the shifting issue started. I am trying to find out the source of the transmission problems, electronic, hydraulic, or mechanical???

Any help or ideas from the awseome forum members would be greatly appreceated.

The whole bottle?!?!

Assuming you're referring to LubeGard, you're only supposed to put in a few ounces, 1/4 bottle at most.

My bad, LubeGard is correct. I am thinking of pulling the fluid out and refilling with straight ATF.

I have done this with a cheap electric fuel pump and a fuel line down the dipstick tube. I used to work in a shop and put this system together and it worked like a charm.

Could this be the source of problems??

Jonsey........

p.s thanks for the reply

Using 1/2 to full bottle of Lubegard Red is fine for the Q transmission, I doubt it is the source of your issues-throttle position sensor must be set precisely for best operation-best done at the dealer using consult.

I'll defer to his quantity as I was referring to LubeGard Black. And you clearly posted "red additive" originally.

Bottle is 10 0z. Q45tech recommends 6 0z.

I recommend you start slowly and add over 100 miles since you can pan drain 25% away and refill. The goop will stay on the clutches for a while so don't expect immediate resolution.

NEVER fiddle with TPS without Consult as the idle range must be set precisely at 0.4 to less than 0.5 volts!

Thanks for the feedback Q45tech.

I have a weird background, I am a motocross racing Network engineer who grew up a car brat(dad use to own a Chevy dealership). My gear is a pocket protector with a fullface helmet............

I have been slowly using the flow charts and checking the blue connector at the TCU. I am using a digital volt meter and going over the values. Is this acurate enough or should I search out a Consult?
