Transmission is making a sounds when i hand turn it.

I removed the engine and transmission b/c i am rebuiling it. When i took out the transmission, i noticed two small silver piece of metal came out. When i hand turn the input shaft on the transmission, i hear something lose moving around in there. It sounds like its right next to the front part of the transmission where i am turning the input shaft. Any one w/ a good guess as to what broke?
