Help! Does anyone know of any issues with the transmission interlock between Neutral and Reverse. As I know it, you should have to apply the brake to shift between Drive and Park. You can place the transmission in Neutral with out applying the brake but from Neutral through park the brake must be applied if it is working properly, just as you have to apply the brake to take it out of park. I've spoken with a friend who has an 07 and his is the same as mine. You can shift through to park with out applying the brake. Mine is intermitent. His is not working at all. Is this common or has this not occured to many Armada owners? I've had mine in the shop three times now for this and the most recent time (yesterday) when I picked it up, even before I left the dealer it still wasn't working after having it all day, I brought it to their attention. I didn't leave it, I will bring it in for the fourth time another day. I'm not to disapointed because it doesn't affect the performance of the vehicle. I do know however how dangerous this can be if the shifter is accidentally put in reverse while the vehicle is in forward motion at any speed over 3 or 4 mph.

If you are not sure, please check it out. If you don't use your parking brake you probably would not have noticed. I'm in the habbit of using mine (parking brake) and apply it first and let the vehicle rest against it before putting it in park. I do this because if you've ever parked on a hill and found it difficult to take out of park, it is because there is to much load on the park paw in the transmission. Anyway check it out, wont you?
