I got a 2003 Pathy 4x4 on my hands... 80k on the clock.. Manual says it has a lifetime filter, but I wanna change it out just to be safe. I read online that the transmission has locking screws that need to be replaced when you open the transmission pan??? Is this true??

When you pull the trans pan off, you need to replace the pan bolts (there are eighteen I believe) since they are self-sealing. Also, you will need to replace the pan gasket, but I am sure any filter kit you buy will come with one. Changing out the trans filter is easy and a pretty simple job.

Where can one purchase these pan bolts?? Kragen? Autozone? Nissan service (aka stealership)
