Transmission in 4th gear when switched to manual mode.

Has anyone had any issues with the transmission showing its in 4th gear when placed in manual mode? I noticed this after the recent snow storm we had and I needed to switch to a lower gear. The car while shifting from park to manual mode shows it is in 4th gear on the dash. It even does this while at a stop light and changing from D to manual mode.

Read the Owners Manual, this is Normal for the F50.

The owners manual does not go into detail about what gear the vehicle will be in when shifting to manual mode. Just curious when you are going from park to manual or at a stop light and decide to shift what gear does your Q show it is in?

This is normal, the car will shift for you even if it is on manual mode. It is not like a G35 that I have driven that it will stay on the gear that you have selected. It is like a sport mode and does not act like a sports car manual mode.

I have questioned myself why Infiniti did it this way.
