I just had the transmission and clutch replaced in my '92. The transmission came out of a 94 and hass less than 100k. I've noticed that the transmission seems to be getting pretty hot. It also has a tendency to hum under load. I don't know if this is due to the higher pressure of a brand new clutch, improper install, improper lube, or what. I don't know how serious a problem this is, but it's abnormal and that makes me a little nervous. Any ideas what's causing this?

I would check the level of the transmission fluid for starts and work your way from there. Be sure to check the level and the color of the fluid inside the transmission. That transmission could have been beat on as well but who knows...check the fluid for starts and get back to us.

Alright, I'd say this qualifies for the Crackhead of the month award. I took of the shifter trim, and looked underneath. The little rubber boot that bolts to the "hump" wasn't bolted down, so all the road noise, tires, transmission, etc... was coming up through the bottom of the car. Once I got the thing bolted down, everything was fine. No more heat or hum. Darwin award I guess. I cheked the gear oil anyway, nice and full and clean as a whistle. Car sounds brand new. Thanks Rev.
