I just finished my 5 speed swap last night and took it out for a spin. It was all good until i tried to shift back down into 2nd from about 25 mph. It also grinded when i would shift quickly into it. Now when i am at a very slow speed ~5 mph, if i leave it in second, depress the clutch and put it back on, it will make this awful noise of gears just grinding real bad. Could this be a bad transmission or could the fact that my clutch pedal isnt adjusted right be causing this??

anything that needs adjustment in a transmission system can cause serious problems... my friend`s has this weird habit of shifting fine most of the time and then after 20 or so shifts, the clutch pedal will be halfway down in its travel and you can`t get the car in gear, requirin you to raise the pedal back up all the way and *then* it`s fine again for another 20 or so shifts.

so my point is, definitely handle your adjustments asap. synchros are a terrible thing to waste.

Alright time to elaborate. I put in the transmission crossmember and it helped a little but there are still some problems. Here is the full breakdown of what happens:

If im at a dead stop, and put it into first and within less than a second let the clutch out and go it is perfect. And if i double clutch into second it is perfect. If i am at a dead stop, put it in 1st, then wait and let out, it makes a gear grinding noise until i totaly release the clutch. Same thing happens in reverse. Also, if im going anywhere over 20 and try to shift down into second, horrible gear grinding. Sounds like syncros but.... When in first from a stop, if i let it out to where it starts grinding then put the clutch pedal back down. It will grind until i put it in neutral and let totaly off the clutch pedal. It sound like the clutch plate is sticking to the shaft.

Note: I ordered the wrong clutch kit because i have an e transmission on a de motor. I didnt replace the throw out bearing because it was special order and the one i got off ebay was wrong...
