If you got knocked pretty solid on the front, your wheel's transaxles could have been rammed in or out of your transmission/ differential. Can you take some photos both outside and under the hood and then share them with us? Are you sure it's transmission fluid?

It could be many things.
If your car is automatic, its likely the cooler was damaged in a front on hit. In many cars this is integrated into the radiator. Have a look under the hood and under the car see if you can see it. Obviously you should check the level of remaining fluid before you drive it.

Oh yeah, good call! Lot's of cars have a reservoir of transmission fluid on the bottom of the radiator. Check there for sure.
