Draining the transmission oil from the pan only gets about 1/3 of the oil i read somewhere. I would like to do a complete flush, and i had an idea, i was wondering would it work. There is an in/out line for the transmission cooler on the bottom of the radiator, the 2 skinny lines, if i put the another line connecting to the in outlet and submerge that line in new transmission oil, then direct the out line to an empty container and run the car, do you think this will work? Thanks

The easier way to do it, is drain, then refill, drive around, and drain again, refill, this should take most of the old fluid out. Also the engineers most likely account for about 20% of fluid not to be changed since it doesnt all drain. So you should be good even after 1.

I recently dropped the pan and put in a new filter (never beeen done since new '99.5 Pathy 106,000 miles). The magnet in the pan had a small amount of metal (like powdered magnet) and the filter didn't look to bad, I could still see through the screen just fine. I just cleaned up the pan and magnet real good, put in the new filter, and refilled.

I drained about 5.5-6 quarts of transmission fluid and plan on doing just a drain and fill once a year.

Drain the transmission oil from the drain plug gets you 4 liters, the converter still is full. Drain the oil every 1 to 2 years should do. Do not play with the coolant lines, goes to the lower rad.
