Anybody know where the transmission Temp sensor is ??
I have some weird stuff happening about the time it get's warm enough to achieve Lockup.
Then after about 15 seconds it goes away.
Thinking the sensor might be fluctuating.
Main symptom is shifting down to third.
Only happens when its over 90F out as well.
Bizzare.

I think its part of the automatic transmission control unit which sits in the driver side kick panel.

agreed, but the actual sensor is what I'm curious about.
It must touch the fluid somewhere.

Trace wires 33 & 35 from the A/T control unit to the sensor (see AT-81) that's located under the control valve cover?

Excellent diagnosis, I hope.

Its gonna take some investigation.
The FSM shows how to test it , Then refers you to AT100 "On Vehicle Replacement" to remove it.
But there's nothing in that section for the Fluid Temp Sensor !!!

Sounds like many transmission temperature sensor issues are connector related?

Maybe someone at a local transmission shop can share some information or there is a J30 at a local Pick 'n' Pull that's up for a little investigating?

Have you found a replacement OEM part number listing?
