Dexron II is no longer made it has been replaced with Dexron III and here is the reason for the industry change. Dexron II was around for many years as technology advanced so did the fluid. Transmissons now have alot of electronics in them and the old Dexron II over time would build up a charge and reak havoc on eletrical componants Dexron III was the answer although it to will build a charge over time it does not conduct electricity so it could go longer between changes. Dexron III is backward compatible with Type Dexron II , Type F , Fa , & A systems. If your transmission has some miles on it flushing the system might actually do more harm than good. Let me explain as your transmission runs it is throwing sediment to the outside walls of your transmission case , this is normal but not all of the dirty stuff ends up in the pan an filter it is deposited throughout the transmisson. This means that the pan and filter can appear to be clean with very little debris. When you have your system flushed most places won't remove and clean the pan and filter they just give it a transfussion and where do you think all of that stuff ends up when the flush breaks it loose? That is why I suggest that they do the flush and then drive the car about a thousand miles or so and then drop the pan and then install a new filter and gasket and refill. This way you don't get a big surprise in a few months when your transmisson won't go into gear and the service shop says you need a new one and the only thing you know for sure is I just had it serviced how could this happen.
