Transmission Fluid Problem

so today I was filling up my transmission fluid with gl-4 synthetic stuff by unbolting the shifter and dumping it in since it was empty after a transmission swap. Now the fsm says it takes 2.4 liters of that stuff, so how come after dumping 3 liters it is still empty?

Please help. Looking underneath the car, nothing is dripping out, so where the heck is my fluid going tO?

how do you know it's empty? when i filled mine with, it still didn't puddle up near the shifter. It was just in there.

Filling it up by dumping it down the shifter is fine but there is a check plug on the side you need to remove to check the level, it will have a square head and take a 17 mm wrench. Fill it until fluid starts to run out of the hole and then replace the plug.

I suspect removing the fill plug will take care of that extra 0.6 liter of fluid.

The "check plug" is actually the real fill hole. Most people find it easier to fill through the shifter.

haha, thanks for the help guys. Just realized it myself. Must have been when I was removing the transmission, I had it tilted and it was filling up the gearbox and it caused me to think that it was suppose to be that full.

Damn wasted liek 4 dollars canadian filling that crap up.
