Transmission fluid or syncro?

Ok when im shifting into 3rd gear pushing the clutch more than half way down(Like I always do) at LOW RPMS'S 3rd gear feels fine... But...

When Im shifting at high rpm's into 3rd I get grinding(sometimes...not all)

Could this be the need or a transmission fluid change or are the 3rd gear syncro going out?

*Keep in mind that at low rpm's Shifting into 3rd is a breeze*

I had a similar symptoms, and replacing my trans fluid with red line synthetic ( a couple of times actually) still have the grind.

Just take an extra second to shift to 3rd. I've dealt with it for years now and i just dont worry about it anymore.

should mos def change the fluid if you havent already. yet if its always grinding in 3rd chances are syncroz, precious metals in there get damaged after low fluid levels or wrong fluid.

Double-clutch into that gear if it doesn't get better with a fluid change.

What synth lube are you running? Mine grinded in third, and popped out a gear a few times at low RPM after a fresh fluid change. I went with Redline MT-90 and the problems went away!

Same here. Changed to mt-90 and it stopped grinding 3rd.

i used royal purple's synchromax and it got rid of my grinds.
