I have a 2013 Nissan NV2500 V8 with 73,000 miles on it. I've been reading the service manual and I'm not sure if I need to do a transmission flush as part of the preventative maintenance. The manual doesn't say anything about replacing the fluid just topping it off.

Does anyone know if it requires a flush or replacement?

Thanks

I am not certain, but I haven't ever seen a manufacturer recommending a flush.

More likely, you shall see them indirectly suggesting you leave it alone. That is either by stating you have a sealed transmission or just omiting the trans fluid from the scheduled maintenance.

However, most people see it as there can be nothing wrong with having clean fluid and just do it every 30k or 60k miles. I think these days it's a low pressure fluid exchange.
Just have the dealer do it as they have the right equipment and the right fluid for a modest price... and carry a better warranty than me doing it myself.

I'd say take a look at it and give it a sniff. If it looks ok (not getting black) and doesn't smell burned, you're probably ok. There's a lot of lines and connections from the trans to the coolers and such though, so inspect those and also make sure they aren't leaking.
