After having a BG trans fluid exchange, I realized that the ATF of my Y33 is about half an inch above the level it should be on the dipstick (hot or cold, doesn't matter). Is it really going to matter if I dont drain the pint or two from it? Please sound off with your thoughts.

Typically the BG machine overfills by a small amount. THe usual expert proccedure is to optimize while still connected to BG machine by removing an amount out the fountain.

Important after the exchange to let ATF reach operating temperature where it expands, then correct as needed.

Whether an extra pint is material is unknown. Flooding the gears vs lubricating the gears probably just increases friction losses

Just another reason to do multiple drain/fills at home vs trusting your car to the typical monkeys assigned to operate flush machines.

Nothing more frustrating than paying good money to have a job done half assed.

Really, I think a lsight overfill is preferable to any underfill and easily adjusted.

Maybe so, but it just proves my point that if you want it done correctly the first time......do it yourself

What good is spending $100-150, getting a halfazzed job, then having to go back again for them to make it right? Might as well save the $ and aggrevation from the getgo

Wonder what other shortcuts the monkeys took? A few extra bolts left over from reinstalling the engine shields? Loose cooler lines? A few quarts of Mopar fluid left in machine from their previous flush customer now mixed with your dexron?
