maybe it's all in my head but i feel like the transmission might be slipping slightly.

in the past i've heard that a flush is not something you really want to do, and rather a fluid exchange would be more ideal.

any input fellas?

I am a believer in regular flushes (every 25k to 30k miles or so) if you want to get any long life out of Nissan transmissions. Without them, achieving 100k miles is probably relatively easy, but will not get you to the 200k or more mark!

Remember to make sure to get the Dealer to use the Fluid J ... anything else will damage the transmission and void the warranty.

A flush is just a change unless chemical solvents are added and circulated to clean the varnish and loose clutch material.

A pan drain just replaces 3-4 quarts or 30-40% of old ATF [better than nothing] since this replaces 30-40% of old worn out additives and removes 30-40% of dissolved/suspended fillings and wear materials.

Solvents and flushes go together since it is wasteful and stressful to leave HALF plus of the solvent still circulating if a pan drop is only done, However you could do 3-4 pan drops or drains and probably remove 95% of solvent from ATF.

Always allow solvent to circulate for 15 minutes in hot ATF to complete the cleaning process then drain.

As long as you change 100% of ATF every 30k, even transported by StarGate will work.
