Transmission fluid cocktail. Thoughts?

My buddy did it in his sti trans we put in his 400hp wrx no problems been about a year or more....

Id hope over to BOB IS THE OIL GUY for that kind of a question.

I know if the trans fluid foams your in trouble mixing stuff might create a bubble bath.Might not...... Id say a synthetic gear fluid that meets factory specs GL5 etc. would be ideal is the txt book answer.

My transmission shifts great with torco rtf, however I may mix in a quart of heavy weight shock proof.. the torco is very light so the transmission seems to be noisey.. but it shifts great..

I used to run a mix of redline mtf90 and shockproof on a lot drift cars i built, but looking back I have no idea if it really did anything. It was just something my boss had told me to do. The truth is, there is no evidence that that particular mix is beneficial. Maybe the shockproof is doing all the "work" and the synchromesh does nothing, or vice versa.

I just run straight shockproof heavy in my trans. Sucks when it's cold but I just drive slow till the car warms up anyway.

my gearbox feels like im rowing thru a bucket of bolts...nissan transmissions arnt exactly the greatest when it comes to shifting.

roll with what the factory specifies, i ran redline's MT90 in my trans and it was great until the syncros started to go.
