I have a M35h from 2013, i bought it with 130.000km (80.000 miles), is it to late to do an oil change of the transmission and i should leave it alone or should i do a drain and fill?. It has been mantain but it doesnt specify in the maintenance book if the trans fluid has been change at some point. I dont have any symptoms of slipping and i dont have any errors in OBD, just the usual ive read of lag and not so smooth changes in city drive that i dont mind. I know that the book says lifetime and maintenance free but i dont believe it and i dont know if it is to late and i should leave it cause i read that u can make it worse by changing the oil, thats why if i do it is a drain and fill and not a flush.

Take a look at the fluid, if it isn't soupy and translucent then it's okay to change it. Brownish is okay as long as it's still transparent.

I dont have anything to elevate the car nor the experience in this things. Is it safe to check the color by myself or better take it to a professional?

If it doesn't have a stick, then loosen (but don't remove) the drain plug at the rear of the pan (the front will be the fill plug) and let a few drops drip down on a piece of white printer paper. Clean the area around the plug first, so you aren't sampling outside dirt.

Another question about this subject. Is it doable to change the trans in this car by myself and what should i have? I already have an OBD2 scanner, a simple one but idk if its enough, and do i have to do something computer related also?.
Seeing the service pdf i see a drain and overflow plug, and i think i need a charging pipe and a o-ring to refill it. It doesnt seem complicated but i wanna do it right, and just a drain and fill work, not removing the oil pan

You do need a charge pipe, but it isn't complicated. The biggest impediment to doing it DIY is the angle of the car. You need to get it up level, either by four supports or raising the front on a downhill. If the car isn't up-flat when you fill it, the fill plug won't give you the correct fluid level.

80,000 miles isn't that many miles, not even for the year, considering it's 12-13 years old. I recommend taking it to a professional. You may be in the $300 range for a service at Infiniti or Nissan. You also have to consider the temperature of the fluid when changing it and will need to either read the temp with CONSULT, a capable OBD reader, or a handheld laser temp reader(least effective. And you need to follow the service manual to a T. You can find your vehicles factory service manual on here. I did the trans service on my 2012 m37x and it is a bear if you don't have a lift. I used four jack stands and I'm a big guy. I don't like being under a vehicle but it was good to learn. If you decide to do it yourself, some of the pan hardware has to be changed since it's one-time use. And if you get it done at the dealer, MAKE SURE THEY CHANGE THE FILL BOLT and gasket. The head of mine was stripped and I ended up having to replacing the pan. And of course, you would need your torque specs. Best of luck

thank u so much for the info. Being my first car and seeing people talk so much about trans oil change is the thing that im more worry about. But im still thinking if doing it myself or with a friends mechanic. Cause the Official Nissan here in Madrid Spain kinda suck alot and theres only one official Nissan who still touches Infiniti cars, so not much options lmao
