I lost my transmission last week, so I've been on the hunt for another one that will fit. I found a 2000 I30 transmission that apparently will fit my 01 Max. I have the Anniversary edition, so it has a locking differential that apparently the I30 also shares.

I'll need a transmission filter & gasket, as well as the external seal kit. Plus I need to get the transmission shipped from Ontario to Newfoundland.

My question is, Does anyone know if this will actually fit, or should I cancel the order before I get myself another $1000 paperweight?

it's an identical transmission, assuming you're getting the one with the correct differential.

The 01 has a choice of Locking or non-locking right?

It's the locking differential, I made sure.

So I guess I'm in the clear?

Yes, although I know in Canada your transmission options are different than in the USA. (e.g. US-spec 95-99 Maximas never had a VLSD transmission option, while Canada-spec 95-99 Maximas in ES and SE trim did have a VLSD transmission option).

Yes, you're in the clear.

Thanks A Lot Man.

I've noticed that you've been a big help to a bunch of guys on this forum in the past couple of weeks. Good to have a guy with some knowledge on here.

I hope that you guys with more knowledge of the Max/I30/I35 line stick around and give us new guys some help so that we can pass it on to even newer guys down the road.
