ok look, before you blame my transmission dropping on me i've only owned the car for 4 months. Its a 03 g35 coupe, auto. I have 61000 miles on the car and the trans is shot. It went out on dec 17 2006. I was told by kerny mesa infiniti that i would have it the friday before x-mass. Well that came and went. Next i was told i would have it by the 15th of Jan '07. Ok at this time im a little mad so i talked to the general maneger and he was usless and told me that i had to call consumer affairs. well i did that and they told me i wouldnt have my car untill the 20th of Jan. so i went with that. So today i called and they tell me they wont have it untill mid FEB!!!! ofcoarse no-one calls to let me know this. i've called them a million times and keep getting the run around. i talked to the gm again and he tried to play me for an idiot so i called the better buissness bureau and logged a complaint. look i love my G and want it back. They gave me a stupid g35 sedan. now if you've seen my G you know its lowered has 20" koya racing rims and 3000watts in the trunk with the stillen supercharger. i got the car for just that, FUN AND SPEED! i dont want the sedan. kinda why i didnt buy it. so they will have my car for 2 month i feel they need to make 2 of my car payment. $900.00 please. does this seem unfair? what else can i do to get my car back?? please help.

disgruntled consumer.

Hey... think about this. How many dealers would give you a new car to drive while you were waiting for your 4+ year old car to be repaired. Now, if they were giving you the push, and not offering a car to drive, then I might think you had a problem. In the grand scheme, is another month really a big deal, when you are going to get your car back with a fresh transmission? If you still want to make waves, call corporate and ask to speak to the regional rep for Infiniti.

Asking for them to make two of your payments is, in my always humble opnion, not reasonable. Have they offered any explanations as to the delays?

By the way... a trashed transmission after only 61k?? How hard are your driving that puppy?? I am a bit surprised that the dealer isn't squawking at you about your supercharger!

look like ive said i have had the car 4 months (with the car parked at the dealer for 1 month) The supercharger is sitting in my garage right now and has been there since the day the car went out. Im not driving the car hard, i drive it to the ship and back 5 miles durring the week and havent even left the county with it yet. seriously y cant i give them my bills??? I cant even use there rental crap to get on the navy base. how does this rental crap help me??? it doesnt.

Bro... believe me, I feel your pain. I too would want to be driving my coupe rather than a sedan, but it sounds, without knowing both sides of the story that the dealer is being pretty accommodating. I never said that you can't ask them to pay your payment, I just said that I didn't think that it was reasonable. Ask them, if you think they owe it to you... all they can say is yes or no.

I am sorry if it sounded like I was accusing you of abusing your car, but, in your words, "i got the car for just that, FUN AND SPEED!" ... and you obviously knew enough to take the supercharger off before you took it in to them, assuming that they would take issue with it.

Your base won't issue you a temporary pass for access? What do guys do that come into port and rent cars while they are there?

the rental cars have to be in your name and in your insurance name, even if you have proof of insurance it dosnt always mean you can get on though. its up to the base CO. The cars that we rent are most of the time are rentals from the base and some are more accomidating thatn others. if you need special clearence passes(AKA me) you cant use a rental to get there. kida get it?

i dont think that the dealer hass been accomidating though. I HAVE TO CALL THEM FOR ALL THE ISSUES. they dont even have the courtesy to call me. That my friend is BS. i dont think im the obnly-one thinking this though because JAG (base legal) says i am in the right and will be calling them on monday.

Well... best of luck to you then. I hope that you are able to get this resolved to your satisfaction, in a timely manner.

I'm not all that old, and certainly not that wise, but one thing I have learned is that life is not so much about what happens, as how we deal with what happens. Once all of this is behind you, I just hope that you will have grown personally from the life-lesson that is in this situation.

...and, P.S. It is a great thing that you have JAG to back you up!

My only questions are: What is taking them so long to get it fixed? Are they giving you any reasons for the delays? I kinda agree with BigWill on this, too, that you're pretty damned lucky that they're allowing you a loaner. I couldn't believe it when my dealer gave me a loaner for my 03 when I took it in recently especially considering that I didn't buy it new from them. If the transmission work is being done under warranty (or extended warranty) then there really isn't much you can say about the Coupe vs. Sedan loaner. Be glad that they came through that way. In the meantime, I would be asking a lot of questions about the delays.

I'm just surprised that they didn't notice the supercharger install...You're lucky if they replace the transmission under warranty! But then again, 2 months is too long for ANY maintenance.

InfinitiTech, you guys can tell if an owner installs aftermarket stuff right?

I was curious about the same thing, Joe, and this was what he said... "The supercharger is sitting in my garage right now and has been there since the day the car went out."

I don't know about him, but if I'd had a 400 hp car like this when I was 22, I'd have driven it like I stole it! Hell, I'm 49 and sometimes still do!!

I just get the feeling that there is a piece of the story missing.

I am curious as to what excuse they are giving you for the delays.

the supercharger is in a box waiting to be installed because the day the transmission went out is the day i got the supercharger.

you know i realy hate the comments about the age. just because im 22 doesnt mean im imature and cant handle the car. I have been racing dotsun 280z's for 6 years on track. I am married and am the highest rank i could possible be at this stage in my career in the military. i drive the car like any of you other performance enthusiests. There reason for the delays is that i quote 'The part is on back order and of the transmissions that did come in to the US on the 11th of jan, they went to other people first because we didnt put a rush on yours. The new ship date is the 15th of feb.'

sounds like crap too me!

Please forgive my judgemental attitude. I just remember how I was at 22, and it was no where as responsible as you obviously are... and I am sorry to make you feel as though you had to explain yourself. I am very curious to know what kind of progress JAG makes. Could you keep us posted?

i will most deffinatly will. i just want my dang G. Do you think i can just say....look i want my money back for this car, minus the 3 car payments i have already made. you sold me garbage. You give me a comperable car in a '04 model at the same price with all of the thing off the old car ie:rims, stereo, lowering springs. and we will call it even.

what do you think?

I'm not clear on lemon laws here, but there is nothing that cannot be negotiated. I think that the problem you will run into is that they are willing to make this right, whether they take too long is another issue. There is nothing that you can't ask for. Go for what feels fair and right to you.

What branch of the military are you in? I noticed in another post you said you're a machinist.

I'm prior Air Force, so I know how that life can be. I do miss my hobby shop (nice lifts )

Hey man...I would seriously ride the dealership as to why this is taking soooo long. I'm not a mechanic, but 2 months seems a little excessive to me. One other question though, did you buy the G from this dealership?

ok so heres the upadate to all whom want to know.

I got a call this morning aroung 10:00am. It was the service manager at the dealer. "good morning, I just want to let you know that your transmission came in today. I am taking the tech's and clearing thier time to work on your car to have it by the end of the day today or early tomorrow morning".

Finnaly!!! also i got some advice from the SM saying that i sould persue the money for my car payments with consumer affairs. COOL!!!!. more good news. Jag did not have to get involved(I had met with them on Monday and they were trying to get in touch with infiniti but I let them know today that the issue is on pause until i have to fight for money from cosumer affairs)

p.s.- The service manager at K.M. infiniti also said he had read this post....kinda cool i guess.

although i do have a question- I know that the rebuilt trans has a 36000 mile warrenty but since i had to wait so dang long is it fair for me to ask for an original warrenty on the new trany??? 70000 mile is what i want. What if this problem happens again at 37000 mile. i dont wanna be shafted.

I'm really glad to hear that you are getting your ride back soon! Thanks for the update. I wonder if it was the fact that JAG was trying to get ahold of them that caused them to step on the gas a bit? Maybe you could use the warrrantee issue as a barganing chip against the two payments with them?

Keep us posted.
