How expensive is it, and how hard is it to replace? Nissan said that's what is causing my hard shifting problem.

The TCU is right above the ECU. Its not really hard to get to. If you need a new one i have mine from my 5sp swap. It works great. Its from a 1989 240SX Fastback

I had the same hard shifting problems when i did my 5-speed swap. I went threw a clutch in less than a month because it was not releasing. Today I just rebuilt my clutch master and played with the petal height and now it is much better. You can get a Clutch Master rebuild kit from Adavanced Auto for $10.99. It takes about a half hour or so. Nick

How much would it be? I'd like to get it if you've got one just lying around so I wouldn't have to get a brand new one.
