i was wondering if the rb25det transmission can be mated to an rb26dett without too much trouble? If so what is required? Or is there another 2wd transmission that would mate to it?

try searching next time please this is actually a very easy question that could have been answered

ALL rb trannies are bolt on to rb26 engine and vice versa. their bell housing connect at same points to the block but from there back it is diff so dont try to mix and match diff bell housing to diff "transmission". u have to use the bell housing and back on whichever transmission u choose. hope u know the diff between bell housing and transmission, if not let me know ill try to explain

i hope u meant rwd not 2wd

People who dress up as the opposite gender, and live in houses shaped like bells.

What'd you think it meant? :P

Quote from Wiki-

Quote »The bell housing is part of the transmission system on a gasoline(also known as petrol) or diesel powered vehicle. It is bolted to the engine block and contains the flywheel, the torque converter or clutch of the transmission. The starter motor is usually mounted here engaging with a ring gear on the flywheel. On the opposite end to the engine is usually bolted the gearbox.

The above is the normal arrangement for an in line transmission system for a conventional rear wheel drive or all wheel drive vehicle. The arrangement for a transverse mounted engine and transmission for a front wheel drive vehicle has the gear box and differential below the engine and consequently the bell housing is a simple cover for the flywheel.

Bell housings take their name from their shape rather than their function. To the technically literate they are better-known as clutch housings or torque convertor housings, depending on what they actually house.[/quote]most of the time people refer to the bell housing AND gearbox as the transmission while others might call the gearbox alone the transmission like i've seen on a FSM

i jus wanted to make sure u knew the difference. so where the bell housing connects to the engine is the same throughout all rb's but after that they differ from one other.

makes sense.

Thanks for the info guys.

I've heard that the transmission on R33 GTST's and GTR's are the same? How true is this?
