I have a 89 hatchback and am going to do a 5spd swap. the car i might get the parts from is a 93. will a 5speed transmission from a ka24de fit onto my ka24e? if so, are there any problems that might arrise because its not from the 24E?

I'm fairly certain that all year 240sx's share the same transmission, but double check just to make sure :)

yup 89-98 trannys/bellhousings are the same.
