first off i have a 5spd s14 w/ ka24de. i have a clutchmasters stg 3 clutch, w/ new slave and master cylinders. anyway i was driving home and when i went to shift into 3rd, it felt like i miss-shifted, i pushed the clutch in and put the shifter into 3rd but it wasn't there, it was like it was in nuetral. i tried 4th and it was fine but 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and reverse don't work. it feels like its in gear but when i hit the gas it pops out. the shifter doesn't move though, and i pulled it out to see if it may have broke but it was fine. is my trans. f*cked or maybe the shift linkage? or could my clutch have broke? i'd like to get some kind of idea before i go pulling the trans. because im sure you all know how much of a pain in the a$$ that is.

Sounds like something died inside the trans. You could try draining it and checking for carnage in the oil. KA transmissions are cheap, and I've swapped one (clutch too) in 3 hrs by myself. Initially I would have guessed a problem with the shifter, but if you've already checked that and it's fine then I'd suspect a shift fork or something along that line. I seriously doubt it's your clutch.

There may be air in the hydraulic system; try bleeding the system.

Good luck bleeding the sysltem with the clutch damper on there. It's nearly impossible. You have to bypass the clutch damper in order to have any chance of removing all of the air. Write up is forthcoming. I'll link you to it as soon as I finish.

the clutch damper has already been removed, that was one of the first things i did when i bought the car. kinda pressed for time right now but i'll definately drain it and check for metal. i know the trannys are cheap, but so far i haven't been able to track one down locally with a decent low milage on it for less than $400.

hmmmmm sounds to me like your synchronizers are bad excluding the 4th gear one (worst case sencario). you might also wanna check your linkage for any binding, your shift fork also may be worn. if it turns out to be your synchros, you can if your up to the task rebuild it, its easier then you think and a helluva lot cheaper then finding a new one.....plus its fun!
