Transferring music from CF card to musicbox

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Is it possible to transfer music from a CF card to a musicbox?

I am trying to find a more efficient way than individually ripping CDs.

Try something like this. Best Buy should have them.

http://www.amazon.com/Professi...r=1-2

I would think it should work. Same USB principle as a flash drive in the USB port.

How do I initiate the transfer? Right now it's just showing up as music folders in the CF menu. The Music box is empty.

or are you saying I have to connect the CF card via USB not in the CF slot?

I'm back to report it will work like a champ!

I put an album on an SDHC card, took my USB card reader to the car and plugged it in the USB port.

Presto... Music!

I can only speak for the 2010 with the USB port.

It works to my Music Box.

You didn't state what year you had.

Just finished putting 5,800 songs on this.

That will give me a few days of crusing music.

can you play all of your songs. i know the CF card on earlier model can only support 512 files. maybe they remove the limit when they added in the usb slot

You can't transfer music from the CF card to the hard drive (Music Box), at least not in the 2008. The only way to get music on the hard drive is to rip it in the car - sad but true.

In a EX2010 fully loaded car, is there a way for us to copy music from a USB drive to the Music Box, not just play them from the USB? Plus how do you remove/delete exisiting collections from the Music Box? Thank you, all!

There doesn't seem to be but that's okay. I just run everything from a USB stick and it works great. Plus no limitation on quality since I prefer my MP3's at 256Kbps. The Music Box's limitation is unacceptable to me. I did not pay an extra two grand for a great sounding system to listen to mp3's at 133Kbps.

I have a 2008 Ex which uses the CF. I recorded songs off a CD (to the music box)that did not show the text, but plays the music fine. I used the CF with the infiniti instructions (gracenote), but was unable to choose "search missing titles" (it was grayed out) on the music box. I then called the 1-800 number that the infiniti instructions gave-They said they know nothing about the music box and that I need to take the car to the dealer. Has anyone done the procedure of downloading the text using the transfer of the songs to the computer and back to the music box using the CF. This really seems ridiculous. and I'm not optomistic that service will know anything about this process.

Instead of using the CF card and card reader, can I just use a USB thumb drive? Has anyone tried that?

This 1GB USB drive works just fine.

I also too my USB card reader out to the car and put in a 32GB SDHC card... worked like a charm!
