Hello,
I am looking for some clarification on the air bleeding techniques for the r32 transfercase. The FSM says to first bleed the pump via gravity and then to bleed the actuator side of the transfercase with the ignition on, and the air bleeder connector disconnected.
Supposedly, having the air bleeder disconnected puts the pump into air bleeding mode. Once air is bleed from the lines leading into the actuator side of the transfercase, one is to intermittenly disconnect the air bleed connector until there is 5mm or less of air in the resevoir return side.
My questions:
1. Does anyone have an idea of what the air bleed mode is? The pump is normally turned on by the ignition, so how is the air bleed mode different?
2. Why does there need to be 5mm or less of air in the resevoir tank return? Why wouldn't you just remove all the air?
