Hey guys, my Q just hit the 100,000 mile mark finally and is running great. Only problem i've noticed aside from burning a little oil is that I have a tiny transfer case leak. Checked the level and its doing ok nothing major. If I park it for an hour nothing shows on the cardboard in the garage but if i leave it overnight theres a quarter size spot of pink fluid....should I bring it in to get something replaced? sounds expensive even if its a gasket.

I had the same thing...couple of drops almost a year after I changed the fluid. Ended up being the drain plug was just a tad loose. It took almost a half turn and no more leak.

Heres two quick pics I snapped, it looks like the drop is every other day one little spot if that. I dont think its too big of a deal, Im guessing its the gasket? and that IS the transfer case right? its been sweaty for a while. Drain plug is fine and tight btw

Looks like the front differential, not the t-case.
It doesnt look too bad of a leak. When they seal up diff cover, they usually use RTV gasket/seal maker, not an actaul gasket.
have you tried tightening that bolt close to the leak?

lol yea that is the front differential, t-case is the thing to the left of the transmission if i recall, that the front driveshaft is connected to.

i cant tell from the pic if thats the diff or the t-case. Is the pic sideways?

Im wearing too clean clothes to go crawl under mine right now.

Have you checked that theres no oil dripping from the oil filter, making it look like other things are leaking?

Definitely the front diff., looks like you may just need to replace the RTV on the front cover. It shouldn't be a big job unless they can't access the top bolts. I do remember the front diff plate being a little awkward to get to though.
