I recently picked up a 2001 qx4 , love the thing..... however I have done some items which needed to be fixed, replaced the four trailing arms and rear shocks. my problem is it has a leak from the rear seal on the transfer case. I replaced the seal with a Timken seal, ran it in the driveway and no leak. drove it five miles and come out of the store and a spot of transmission fluid about 4" in diameter on the ground. I look underneath and its coming right out the rear of the transfer case AGAIN... the slip York was perfect, no rust no groove. seal went in in pretty easy so Im pretty confident I didn't destroy the seal (plus I was in the field professionally for 15 years so a seal change is way with in my capabilities, or so I thought....lol)..... any ideas as where else to look or what to try. thanks in advance....

got it figured out.... trailing arms were so bad it apparently let the slip joint bottom out on the output shaft and knocked the plug half way out of the rear of the slip joint. driveshaft guy straightened the plug and welded it up...... leak all gone, probably never was the seal.
